PSHE statement of curriculum intent

At Cheriton Primary School, the personal and social development of the children is at the heart of the PSHE curriculum.  HeartSmart is used to enrich our delivery of PSHE alongside Leader in Me and No Outsiders In Our School, bringing together citizenship with personal and emotional well-being. 

The children’s learning in PSHE will enable them to understand how to self-regulate in order to keep their bodies safe and healthy.  Children will understand the decisions needed to promote the wellbeing of themselves and others, building resilience, strengthening emotional intelligence and developing active empathy.
